Pegasus Life Care Village, Steepleton
Working with Speller Metcalfe Construction, JJ Interiors were awarded the drylining, ceilings, finishes, carpentry (internal & external) and bespoke joinery works to the Tetbury Steepleton retirement village.
The five acre retirement living developing which comprises of 113 apartments delivering a range of facilities connected by courtyard walk-ways, green spaces and kitchen gardens. The one, two and three bed apartments are spread across various blocks, all connected by gardens and walkways, creating a sociable environment for all residents. With its low-rise apartment blocks surrounded by green space and active kitchen gardens, Steepleton is designed to blend easily with the local landscape's aesthetic.
Carpentry works included external cladding and pergolas.
Highlights of the joinery for this project (made by partnering MakeBy Design) include the carved oak reception pod which was constructed using layers of solid american white oak, cut to size and shape and brick bonded together to form a sphere. The finished pod was sanded to form a perfect sphere and then free hand carved to produce the finished 'ripple' effect.
The walnut bookcase bar, also located within block 4 is also a thing of beauty featuring a pull out cocktail table, bi-folding pocket doors, a drinks fridge and luxury Joseph Giles brass handles
