Hampton By Hilton, Bristol Airport

Working closely with Kier Construction, JJ Interiors were appointed during early 2016 to initially carry out the carpentry and drylining works to the new £15 million hotel at Bristol Airport.

Following the appointment of these packages, JJ Interiors were then appointed by Kier Construction to carry out the joinery and FF&E works at the hotel.

Works included:

All cabinetry and housings to the breakfast room
12m long reception counter
Bar
Reception counter storage
BoH workstations
Gym Storage
Booth and banquette seating
Timber screens and ceilings
Living Zone cabinetry
All carpentry works including skirting's, door sets (install only) and ironmongery
All walls, ceilings, partitioning and acoustic baffle works including supply and fitting of specialist pregybel ceilings

The 201 bedroom project leads the way in new construction technology by utilising shipping containers as modular bedrooms which are produced in a factory in China, before being shipped to Bristol. The pre-designed modules are completely factory finished and are assembled in as little as 3 weeks.

The modules, which include staircases and lobbies, are first signed off by Hilton representatives at the factory in China before being built and finished internally by CIMC Developments (China International Marine Containers Group Ltd).

Consisting of two bedroom wings linked by a glazed walkway at each level, forming an ‘H’ plan, the hotel is clad in a variety of metal sheets and panels, whilst the intimate internal courtyards have a warmer timber-like cladding. Together with some creative lighting it is hoped this will create an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the air travel.

Facilities within the hotel include meeting rooms and lounges, a large open plan bar and restaurant, and a fitness suite for the hotel guests.

Successfully handed over in January 2017.
