Life Leisure Centre, Ebbw Vale

Working with Willmott Dixon, JJ Interiors manufactured and installed the reception counter, education counter and cladding of the cafe servery counter.

All three counters feature a high gloss sprayed MDF finish to the facia panels, which are also curved in the instance of the reception counter. For the servery counter, which was manufactured by Shine Food Machinery Ltd., we produced all of our cladding panels from a shared Solidworks model.

The challenge here is was to ensure both trades met together with millimeter precision. We set about achieving this by trading as-build models with one another prior to manufacture to ensure that all components mated and any potential issues were identified and eliminated prior to manufacture.

 

Our design development process and extensive consultation with both architects and the main contractor led to a 35% cost saving on the project.
